Last updated: May 31, 2026
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Silk Road Wonders website and the booking of tours through silkroadwondertours.com. By accessing our site or booking a tour, you agree to be bound by these Terms. Please read them carefully before making a reservation.
📝 1. Booking Process
- Inquiry: Submit your travel preferences via our inquiry form or email. We will respond within 24 hours with a proposed itinerary and quote.
- Confirmation: Once you accept the proposal, we issue a booking confirmation with detailed itinerary, inclusions, and total price.
- Deposit: A 30% non-refundable deposit is required to secure your booking. Your tour dates are not guaranteed until the deposit is received.
- Final Payment: The remaining 70% balance is due 30 days before your tour departure date.
- Late Bookings: For bookings made within 30 days of departure, full payment is required at the time of booking.
💳 2. Payment Methods
We accept the following payment methods:
- PayPal (international clients)
- Credit/Debit Cards: VISA and MasterCard
- Bank Transfer (wire transfer) — bank details provided upon request
- WeChat Pay and Alipay (Chinese clients and partners)
All prices are quoted in US Dollars (USD) unless otherwise agreed. Any bank transfer fees or currency conversion charges are the responsibility of the client.
❌ 3. Cancellation by Client
If you need to cancel your booking, please notify us in writing via email. The following cancellation fees apply:
- 30+ days before departure: Full refund minus the non-refundable deposit (30%) and any non-recoverable third-party costs (flight/train tickets, special permits).
- 15-29 days before departure: 70% of the tour cost will be refunded (minus deposit and non-recoverable costs).
- 7-14 days before departure: 50% of the tour cost will be refunded (minus deposit and non-recoverable costs).
- Less than 7 days before departure: No refund. We strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance that covers trip cancellation.
Please see our detailed Cancellation Policy page for more information.
🌎 4. Cancellation by Silk Road Wonders
In the rare event that we must cancel a tour due to circumstances beyond our control (force majeure), we will offer you the choice of:
- A full refund of all payments made (including the deposit), or
- An alternative tour of equal or similar value on different dates.
Force majeure includes, but is not limited to: natural disasters, pandemics, government travel restrictions, civil unrest, or extreme weather conditions that make travel unsafe.
✈ 5. Travel Documents & Insurance
- Passports & Visas: It is your responsibility to ensure you have a valid passport (with at least 6 months validity beyond your return date) and all required visas for your travel. We provide invitation letters to support visa applications but cannot guarantee visa approval.
- Travel Insurance: Comprehensive travel insurance is mandatory for all our tours. Your policy must cover medical expenses, emergency evacuation, trip cancellation, and lost luggage. Proof of insurance may be requested before departure.
- Vaccinations: Check with your doctor or travel clinic regarding recommended vaccinations for China and Central Asia. Requirements may vary by nationality and travel history.
🏡 6. Accommodation & Meals
Our standard tours include 4-star hotel accommodation (double/twin share). Single supplement is available at additional cost. In remote areas where 4-star hotels are unavailable, we select the best available local guesthouses, yurt camps, or boutique lodgings.
Daily breakfast is included on all tours. Lunches and dinners are included as specified in your itinerary. Dietary requirements (vegetarian, halal, allergies) should be communicated at the time of booking — we will do our best to accommodate them.
🚗 7. Transportation
We use modern, air-conditioned vehicles with professional drivers. Vehicle type depends on group size: sedans or SUVs for 1-3 travelers, minivans for 4-6, and coaches for larger groups. Domestic flights and high-speed trains are included where specified in your itinerary.
Seat belts must be worn at all times. We reserve the right to change transportation arrangements due to weather, road conditions, or operational requirements, while ensuring equivalent quality.
🚑 8. Itinerary Changes
While we make every effort to follow the planned itinerary, circumstances may require adjustments:
- Minor changes: We may adjust the daily schedule, restaurant, or sightseeing order for operational reasons without prior notice.
- Major changes: Significant changes (e.g., replacing a major destination, changing the tour duration) will be communicated as soon as possible. You may accept the change or cancel for a full refund.
- Client-requested changes: Amendments to your itinerary after booking are subject to availability and may incur additional costs or administrative fees.
💉 9. Health & Safety
Some Silk Road destinations involve high altitudes (e.g., Tibet, Pamir Mountains at 4,000m+), long driving days, and basic facilities in remote areas. By booking a tour, you confirm that:
- You are in good health and physically capable of undertaking the tour as described.
- You have disclosed any medical conditions, allergies, or special requirements at the time of booking.
- You understand the inherent risks of travel in remote regions with limited medical facilities.
We reserve the right to decline or remove any traveler whose health, behavior, or fitness level poses a risk to themselves or the group.
⚖ 10. Liability
Silk Road Wonders acts as a tour operator and intermediary between you and third-party service providers (hotels, airlines, local guides, transport companies). While we carefully select our partners:
- We are not liable for acts, omissions, or defaults of third-party suppliers.
- We are not liable for loss, damage, injury, delay, or expense arising from force majeure events, government actions, or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
- Our maximum liability is limited to the total amount paid for your tour.
- We carry public liability insurance. Details available upon request.
💻 11. Website Use
- Accuracy: We make every effort to ensure website content is accurate and up to date. However, prices, availability, and itineraries may change without prior notice. The final confirmed itinerary and price in your booking confirmation take precedence over any website content.
- Intellectual Property: All content on this website (text, images, logos, itineraries) is the property of Silk Road Wonders or used under license. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use our content for commercial purposes without written permission.

📜 12. Complaints & Disputes
If you experience any issue during your tour, please inform your guide or contact our office immediately so we can resolve it on the spot. If a complaint remains unresolved after the tour, please submit it in writing within 30 days of your return date.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China. Any disputes shall be resolved through amicable negotiation first, followed by mediation or legal proceedings in Chinese courts if necessary.
🔄 13. Changes to These Terms
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Changes take effect immediately upon posting to this page. The Terms applicable to your booking are those in effect at the time of booking. Continued use of our website following changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
